I loved collaborating with Lori on the publication of my latest book. She listened and gained a strong understanding of what I wanted, but she also never shied away from sharing her thoughts and perspective. She shared my passion for how we both wanted my book to look and feel in the hands of a reader. The process itself was a great experience, and the end result is a book that makes me proud every time I pick it up or share with a new reader.

Chasing dreams and living my best life.

So you want to know a little about me? First and foremost I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. I love dogs, the mountains, all things KU, tacos, dark chocolate and sitting by a fire drinking red wine. I’m happier on a trail than a beach and have spent just as many vacations sleeping on the ground as in a hotel. My heart will always belong to the Midwest with its patchwork of prairies, farmland and wide open skies. Nature inspires me, and I raise Monarch butterflies and tend to my native plant butterfly and pollinator gardens in an effort to give back a little to the bountiful creation that surrounds us.

For me design is the integration of the beautiful and the useful, whether that be a brand identity, publication layout, direct mail campaign, invitation or infographic. What sets me apart is that I can take your project full circle – from concept to completed production.

I am detail-oriented with extensive digital and print production knowledge. I have a keen eye for color differences and love the nuance of beautifully designed typography. One of my favorite aspects of being a designer is getting to know clients and learning about their particular business or passion – whether that be pharmacogenomic testing, women’s ministry, hot sauces or raising cattle!

With decades of experience in the design industry, my leap into freelance freedom has been an exciting adventure — giving me the opportunity to work on projects ranging from book publishing to product development. My client list includes BarkleyOKRP, Wyandot Behavioral Health, Stonecroft Ministries, Cornerstones of Care, Trip Yang Strategies, Shawnee Mission School District, Linda Hall Library, RxGenomix and Steele Law. I have also had the good fortune to work with many entrepreneurs, writers and artists who have trusted me to help them share their passions with the world – including authors Andrew Johnson and Stacy Cahalan, Why Not Farms, Worth It Therapy Services and Healing Like Wildflowers Therapy.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lori for years. And, in every instance, she is professional and calm. Her diverse knowledge from brand strategy to print production is astounding. Yet, what overshadows all of that is her talent. I’ve seen her take an extremely difficult and complex subject matter, and design a solution that is brilliant (think taking seven spreadsheets containing multiple levels of information, and Lori turning them into a single infographic that anyone can clearly understand). Whether it’s logo design, publication layout, or any design work — Lori can do it. She’s a fast worker who’s dependable ... and she’s fun to work with too. I’m a fan!

Lori is a talented freelancer — she consistently delivers quality work designed beautifully! She seamlessly fits within a larger team and quickly gets up to speed on projects. It is a joy to work with her and I always feel at ease knowing she is on my projects.

In the last several years, I self-published two books and chose Lori to manage the design and production. I chose her once because I had worked with her on design projects in the past and trusted her. I chose her the second time as working alongside Lori is like working alongside a ray of productive sunshine. She is organized, she is articulate and she understands the production side of publishing. She is also patient, kind and a very good teacher and mentor.
